“Must we travel to different spheres in our minds or to different places physically to get that kick we so need out of our lives?”
From the Teachers: “When we return from some beloved landscape of our dreams or perhaps a marvelous vacation, we rej
oice in our return to our homes. Yet we carry the happiness and profound moments that we experienced while away, back home with us. What does this say about our lives? Must we travel to different spheres in our minds or to different places physically to get that kick we so need out of our lives? Does the change do us that much good?
Well, we write a lot about change and we have stated that change is always return. You need not wonder for change is always thus. You return to where you left off … unless you did something different … unless you opened new doors and experienced highs not felt before. We love that change is return, for it spells out what we already know – that you return to the arms of the loving universe each time. That is a given … and a promise. So what good does a vacation or ‘sea change’ do?
You have made a commitment to yourself to work on a change of some sort, a change we prefer to call a transformation where you wish to make a kind of shift, either within yourself or concerning something you are doing. Do you understand? An intended transformation can be dressed in so many coats and so many colors. We speak of where you have applied a mixture of intention and wish with planning the physical outcome such as travel in your car or plane, and you arrive at a physical place and you see it or sense it with your physical senses. Now you are ‘here,’ you say. Now you have arrived. But what have you arrived to? That is the question.
Is it not yourself all over again? What is different? The setting? Now, what will you do? You realize the temporariness of it almost from the outset. ‘This had better be worth it and turn out good,’ you say. But what good does that do you? You worry about the expense, the weather and if good times are to come. But you are no different than when you embarked. You are you. But that is the GOOD news, isn’t it? If you are working toward a joyful experience, then wherever you are, you will find it waiting for you, and we promise it will be all that you imagined and wished for.
Your experience of travel can enlarge all that greatly or you can stay at home and have the same sense of this. Your decision for enlargement is a good one. And vacations and travel help to cement your desires and intentions, as if you are holding a jewel in your hand that you can see and feel: ‘Now I am finally having that good time!’
Deborah knows someone who is planning a cruise to Alaska. They can hardly wait and talk about it with passion and a sense of adventure awaiting. It seems to capture all they have waited and longed for during years leading up to this moment. They will surely have a good time, because they are investing so much of their hearts and themselves into the process. But we must ask this, what makes the distant adventure of this so marvelous, as compared to the infinite variations on life you can experience right now? Until you give more thought to this, you will spend your life as vacation or should we say, ‘variation’ planners, not real time NOW experiencers.
Try to think about this and apply a bit of what we are talking about. Get into your head a picture of the most fabulous place or experience, and go there now. Be in that place or experience for as long as you can frolic mentally there. We recommend about 20 seconds or whatever is comfortable. Now the rest of your day, unless you block this or add turbulent emotions to your day, will match in many ways those feelings and imaginings. You won’t have to take that cruise to Alaska to get some of the vibes or charge you were hoping for.
We don’t mean to impugn the value of a cruise to Alaska, far from it. Why would we not want you to circumnavigate the globe if that is what you want. More to the point, we want you to realize that you create each particle, or moment or vibe you have in this life and in your current NOW, my friends. Apply this NOW to get going, and not always on a trip. Get going for yourself and what you can discover and experience within you. Yet we love that you WANT to travel and we love you. We also don’t mean to be negative in any way about returning home, for you surely know where your heart and hearth lie, don’t you? Re-embracing what is yours and your hearth is wonderful. We love that, too.
We only wish to shine a light on a perspective to which you are too wedded: that you must take a vacation or change your environment to have new experiences. For if you cannot, or you don’t wish to, then you are not excluded my friend. That is our point. Can you grasp and appreciate this? We write for you all, and on behalf of All that is. WE see all around you and are proponents for YOU. We will never tire of that, not in all our days or yours. We close this post with love.” -Your Teachers.
